The double doors leading from the Salone dei Corazzieri (originally called the Sala Regia) to the Cappella Paolina in the Quirinal Palace were designed by Carlo Maderna. Maderno had been placed in charge of the reconstruction of the southern wing of the Palace by Paul V. The bas-relief, "Christ washing the feet of St. Peter", is by Taddeo Landini
