Dr. Grossman is a Professor in Nutrition as well as a registered dietitian. She received her B.S. drgree from University of Texas, M.S. and Dr.P.H. degrees from UCLA in Public Health Nutrition. She has worked as a Public Health Nutritionist for L.A. County before joining the faculty at CSUN. She currently holds certifications in the following areas:
- Weight Control and Stress Management, 1996 - American Association of Life Style Counselors
- Certified Diabetes Educator, 1994 - National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators
- Health/Fitness Instructor Certification, 1996 - American College of Sports Medicine
Dr. Grossman teaches a variety of nutrition classes including: Nutrition for Life (FES 207), Peer Nutrition Counseling (FES 494 BEE), Diet Therapy (FES 406), Community Nutrition (FES 408), Geriatric Nutrition (409) as well as Seminars in Nutrition (FES 690) which emphasize various topics of medical nutrition therapy or sports nutrition. She is activitly involved with studentŐs projects and thesis. She currently serves as Chair of the area of Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics. Dr. Grossman enjoys travel and a variety of fitness activities. This includes tennis, hiking, backpacking, swimming and cycling. This year she has participated in Nationals and Worlds Triathlon.
