Ardavan Asef-Vaziri is an associate professor at the
Department of Systems and Operations Management. He got his BS form the
Department of Industrial Engineering, Sharif (Arya-Mehr)
University of Technology in 1975. His MS is Engineering Management from the
University of Southern California in 1977, and his PhD in Industrial
Engineering with focus in Design and Operations of Production Systems from the
University of Toronto in 1997. Dr. Asef's research
revolves around applications of Optimization and Simulation in facility
logistics, freight transportation, business process flow design, and project
management. His recent research grants are from METRANS and Leonard Transportation
Center. He is a four times winner of CSUN Research, Scholarships, and the
Creative Activity Award in academic years 2004-2009, and a two times winner of
the College of Business and Economics publication award. Dr. Asef's publications have appeared in IIE Transactions,
European Journal of Operations Research, Journal of Operational Research
Society, International Journal of Flexible Manufacturing Systems, Computers and
Operations Research, International Journal of Production Research, Journal of
Maritime Economics and Logistics, International Journal of Agile Systems and
Management, among others. He is a member of Institute of Operations Research
and Management Science a senior member of Institute of Industrial Engineering.
Dr. Asef was recognized as the College of Business and Economic Research Fellow
of 2009 which is the most prestigious
award in the college.
