Matadors Forward

January 27, 2022

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, spring semester began this week as we welcomed our students back to CSUN virtually. We continue to monitor COVID-19 cases and follow Los Angeles County Public Health Department guidelines, and are looking forward to resuming in-person classes on February 14. We can’t wait to see our students – and many of you – again on campus and need your help so we can come back together – safe and strong – as a campus community.

Booster

We want to remind you that in preparation for the start of in-person instruction, all non-represented employees and students who are accessing campus facilities must provide certification of booster no later than February 4 or upon eligibility according to CDC guidelines. You can provide your booster certification by logging into the myNorthridge Portal, going to the Policies and Procedures pagelet on the Faculty or Staff tab and selecting the EE Vaccine Self-Certification link. (Represented employees and auxiliary employees: Please refer to this earlier message for details.)

Why a booster? Data from the Centers for Disease Control indicate that booster shots are instrumental in protecting against Omicron and are 90 percent effective against hospitalization with the variant. Your health and safety are our top priority. If you haven’t already received your booster shot, we encourage you to schedule an appointment today by visiting myturn.ca.gov.

Please regularly visit the MATADORS FORWARD website for the latest guidance and information, including updated employee FAQs. Should you have any questions, please reach out to Human Resources, Employee Relations at er@csun.edu or 818-677-6566.

In addition, we realize that many in our Matador community are struggling with the impacts of the pandemic. We encourage you to seek out the many mental health and well-being resources available for employees through CSUN’s new Campus Care Recovery Plan.

As always, thank you for all that you do for our students.

Mary Beth Walker, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
William Watkins, Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students
Colin Donahue, Vice President for Administration and Finance & CFO
