CSUN Faculty Participate in the National Council for Black Studies Annual Conference

The National Council for Black Studies (NCBS) held its annual conference in Los Angeles. Conference highlights included: Congresswoman Karen Bass as a keynote speaker; a town hall meeting with Assemblywoman Dr. Shirley Weber at the African American Museum; and a plenary session hosted by UCLA on the 2015 Hollywood Diversity Report with actors Robert Townsend, Wren Brown, and others. Anthropology Department Field School Featured in Trade Magazine!

The Department of Anthropology’s Pimu Catalina Island Archaeological Field School is featured in an article (by Field School instructor Wendy Teeter) in the SAA Archaeological Record! The article details how the PCAIFS educates students about Tongva perspectives on the archaeological record, the environment, local history, and local culture and how to develop respectful, collaborative practices.
