Olubukola Omolayo is a second year graduate student in Health Education. She acquired an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences with emphasis on Community Health from CSU Fresno. Olubukola later got a doctor of medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. Over the years, she has had many opportunities to travel and live in many countries such as India, the Fiji Islands, and England. These afforded her the privilege to appreciate the diversity and similarities that permeate various cultures. Her appreciation for culture and medicine, therefore, prompts Olubukola to consider looking into the effects of acculturation on health behavior and access to healthcare services among minority ethnicities. After graduating from CSUN, Olubukola will continue to develop her research skills toward improving health disparities by pursuing postgraduate studies and also return to providing medical care. Her ultimate goal is to apply her skills toward improving medical access and public health for the Nigerian people.
