Charleen Mikail is currently completing her Masters in Public Health at California State University Northridge. She graduated from CSUN in spring 2011 with her B.S. in Health Education. Since fall 2009, she has been serving as President of Campuses Organized and United for Good Health (C.O.U.G.H.-Northridge) which is a recognized student organization that promotes the health and well-being of students, faculty, staff and the general public on the CSUN campus by reducing the health risks associated with tobacco smoke. Currently she is conducting research on the knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of students, faculty and staff at CSUN regarding the current smoking policy on campus. Charleen is interested in primary and secondary health prevention and very passionate about reducing the health disparities associated with tobacco usage. Her research interests include health disparities in populations of low socioeconomic status and tobacco control policies.
