Ashley Baker obtained her bachelors of science in psychology and a minor in literary studies from Southern Oregon University. Currently, she is in the General/Experimental Psychology Program at CSUN and has had the privilege of working with Dr. Jill Quilici in the judgment and decision making lab. With Dr. Quilici, she is conducting research that deals with judgment and decision making in health eating habits, and what causes individuals to adhere to or abandon their daily healthy eating habits. Their current projects focus on nutritional knowledge and awareness predicting the amount of calories individuals chose from mock lunch menus, and self-regulatory behavior with caloric message manipulations on the menus. In her pursuit of working in academia and a government sector, Ashley is eager and hopeful to obtain her PhD in public health or health psychology. She is most passionate about applications of judgment and decision making in the medical field specifically dealing with at risk populations. Her research focuses on health promotion/disease prevention, medical decision making concerning chronic illnesses, and adaptation to physical diseases along with patient adherence to provider recommendations.
