Amber Groat is a second year graduate student in the Behavioral Clinical Psychology Master's Program. She graduated from CSUN in May 2012 with a Bachelor's in Psychology. She recently did a qualitative study, using mixed methods to analyze the effectiveness of ex-offender resources at a local agency called Chrysalis. This was the spark of her interest in action research. Amber is interested in studying techniques for ex-offenders to reduce recidivism and stay out of prison and how using applied behavior analysis (ABA) can enhance those techniques. After getting her Master’s Degree, she plans on spending time developing her skills in ABA while applying to doctoral programs and eventually getting a Ph.D.
