Course Rewrites

Each year, 3 faculty members can request 3 units of reassigned time (a total of 9 units) to develop a new course or rewrite an existing course to have greater course content related to health disparities. The purpose of the RIMI courses is to both introduce RIMI Scholars to health disparities and culturally relevant research methods, but also to encourage promising undergraduate and graduate students to consider a career in health disparities research by introducing them to specialized topics related to health and health disparities. These courses will be recommended to RIMI students.
You can:

  • Develop a course on demographics and epidemiology of health and health disparities, interdisciplinary research perspective with an emphasis on ecological validity
  • Develop a course on research methods and pertinent questions for reducing health disparities
  • Revise a course relevant to RIMI Scholars to take that relates to health disparities
