Faculty Collective-Nancy Miodrag

Nancy MiodragNancy Miodrag, Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Development at CSUN. Her research interests are in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. Specifically, her interests include understanding the health disparities of children with various intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as the psychological stress, health, and mental health among parents and caregivers. Dr. Miodrag is equally interested in the psycho-educational techniques used to intervene to reduce stressors and promote adaptive coping and positive outcomes in these families included mindfulness-based interventions. Prior to joining the faculty at CSUN, Dr. Miodrag completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, Vanderbilt University, studying stress and health among families and their children with rare genetic syndromes including Prader-Willi, Williams, and Angelman syndrome. She has published health research using both large-scale state databases as well as clinical and intervention data with these rare syndrome populations.
