Jimmy Xie
Jimmy Xie is an assistant professor in Department of Recreation and Tourism Management. He has two lines of research. First, based on the understanding of the factors that influence involvement in physical activities, Dr. Xie is interested in designing and evaluating prevention intervention program aimed at increasing the participation in physical activities among ethnic minority groups. Second, Dr. Xie is interested in social marketing in the area of active living, public recreation, and physical activity. As a RIMI Tiered Mentor Scholar, Dr. Xie is currently studying the influence of Latino grandparents in grandchildren’s physical activity.
