Faculty Collective-Abraham Rutchick

Abraham RutchickAbe Rutchick is a professor in the Department of Psychology. A central line of his research program is focused on the application of priming – the influence of nonconscious exposure to stimuli on thought and behavior - in ecologically valid contexts.  Currently, our work focuses on exploring the use of mobile technology to administer an array of health-promotive priming interventions. A secondary line of research is focused on social cognition (specifically, social identity and social perception) and the consequences of social cognitive processes for mental and physical health. Students working with me will assist with all aspects of the research, including data collection and management, participant relations, study design, and training in analysis and interpretation.
