Create Strong Bonds with other LGBTQIA+ Students of Color at “The Lavender Takeover” hosted by the Pride Center

MEDIA ALERT

WHAT: The Pride Center of the University Student Union (USU) invites all LGBTQIA+ students of color to experience a vibrant and healing space at “The Lavender Takeover” with additional opportunities for allies to join. Every other Tuesday this fall semester, join us to proudly express your true authentic self and engage in rich discussions surrounding unique experiences. 

WHO: Whitney Workman, Supervisor at the Pride Center, is responsible for coordinating this event. 

WHEN: Biweekly Tuesdays from Sept.14 to Dec. 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

WHERE: Pride Center (2nd Floor of Sol Center,USU) 

WHY: A special opportunity for LGBTQIA+ students of color to feel a connection to their campus while embracing their identities. 

BACKGROUND: The Pride Center has created a learning, healing and safe space for all queer and trans Matadors of color that will let you to take a step back from the complexities of a white heteronormative society and just be you. “The Lavender Takeover” will alternate between being open to everyone who wants to learn more about supporting the QTPOC experience and closed for QTPOC folks to have their own space. The first meeting on Sept. 14 will be open to all participants. For more details on the event, please visit csun.edu/pride.
