American Anthropological Association Summer Intern Program - Application Deadline March 15, 2015
The American Anthropological Association is offering two internships in Summer 2019 for undergraduates and first year graduate students. The internships are unpaid, but interns will be provided with housing and a meal/travel stipend. One internship is with the Naval History and Heritage Command; the other is with the National Museum of African Art. Both internships also include work at the AAA offices. Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities National Internship Program - Application Deadline for Summer Internships is February 12, 2019
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities National internship Program is seeking applicants for the summer and fall 2015 internship sessions. HNIP provides students the opportunity to receive valuable work experience through paid internships with federal agencies and private corporations nationwide. HNIP matches a student's career interests, educational background, and previous work or volunteer experience with the needs and demands of its federal and corporate partners. Students receive paid round-trip airfare, housing arrangement assistance, emergency medical insurance, and a weekly stipend. Student interns also participate in a wide range of professional development, networking, and cultural activities. You can find more information and apply online at the HNIP webpage. The application deadline is February 12 for Summer internships and June 7 for Fall internships.
Education Intern Position - National Park Service, Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area--Applications are due in Novemeber
During the 2017-2018 school year, education student interns reached over 19,000 elementary students from Los Angeles County. Interns are needed to continue to reach students participating in an interagency outdoor education field trip which provide underserved 4th graders an opportunity to experience the outdoors. Working with park rangers and volunteers, interns will learn how rangers conduct field trips for elementary school students and will gain experience leading programs for 4th grad students who will learn about the park's Mediterranean ecosystem, cultural resources/history, science, recreational opportunities and mission of public lands. On occasion, interns may also assist rangers at special events, fairs, and conferences in and out of the park--providing general information to the public about the park and programs. CSUN D.C. Internships
Study and intern for a semester in our nation’s capital as part of the D.C. Internship Program. Spring and Summer internships are available. Earn up to six units towards graduation. Open to all majors! Many Anthropology majors have interned at the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage (see https://folklife.si.edu/) . CSUN Study Abroad Program
This program is a fabulous way to gain international travel experience. The CSU International Program (IP) offers eligible students the opportunity to study at one of the following countries for an academic year: Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan or the UK. Students in the Department of Anthropology have studied in France, Sweden, and Ghana, among other places. Chumash Indian Museum-Volunteer Opportunities
The Chumash Indian Museum is a historical site and living history center. This museum is dedicated to restoring and preserving an awareness of the Chumash people and their historical, cultural, material and present-day influence, as well as the natural environment and historical significance of this site. Through exhibits, events, and educational programs, the Chumash Indian Museum serves as a gathering place for a partnership with the native and non-native communities connecting the past with the present to continue our shared future.
The Chumash Museum has many volunteer opportunities for CSUN students. There are different volunteer jobs such as school tours, special events, front desk/gift shop, nature hike docents and curation/collections. Students in and alumni of the Department of Anthropology work at the museum and can help CSUN Anthropology students find specific jobs that relate to your interests.
