CSUN Mentorship Program Team

Our CSUN Peer Mentors represent a variety of experiences, personal identities, backgrounds, on campus organizations, and are from various academic colleges.

Participating students are paired with a Mentor based on how they want to use the program, whether it be getting assistance on passing a class or joining a new club on campus! Our Mentors have their own unique traits and assist their students differently. Should you join the program, you will be paired with a mentor that best suits your particular needs and interests!

Amy Pizano

Hello Matadors,
My name is Amy Pizano Flores, I hope all of you are doing well. I am a sophomore majoring in sociology. I hope to pursue a degree in sociology and become an attorney related to family services. Some things I enjoy doing when I have free time is hiking, going to the beach and trying new foods. As a second year student I understand how difficult the transition to a new environment is. I was a mentee my first year and had an amazing experience learning about all the resources CSUN provides and how to use them. This made the transition from high school to college easier. Now my goal is to help you navigate your way around campus here and provide you with information that will help you these next couple of years of school.

Alexia Aguilar

Hello everyone!! I am Alexia Aguilar, a first generation student, going into my sophomore year, majoring in Communication Studies, and minoring in Anthropology. A little more about myself is that I am an old soul which means that I love listening to oldies, wearing bell bottoms, and watching classic films. In my free time I like to do photography, exercise, and hanging out with my family/friends. More than anything, I am passionate about helping others, and being part of the CSUN Mentorship Program allows me to help those who are seeking for a friend to help them succeed. After my undergrad, I want to become a United States Marine Corps Officer and eventually go into the film industry to pursue a career in film directing and cinematography. Please feel free to say hello wherever you see me, I am always open to making new friends!

Porosh Khan (PK)

My name is Porosh Khan, my pronouns are He/Him/His and I am a Computer Information Technology major at CSUN. Choosing CSUN was an easy decision for me because of its vibrant campus life, variety of student resources, and diverse community. Plus CSUN shares the same values as me regarding learning, leadership, mental health, and balance. Becoming a Peer Mentor in the CSUN Mentorship Program was inspired by my desire to guide fellow Matadors, give back to the university, and help incoming students transition into college life. One of my fondest memories here has been attending the New Student Orientation Retreat with my peer mentors and orientation leaders, which reminds me of the close-knit community I am proud and grateful to be a part of, I keep thinking of the past retreat and am eager for the next one. Looking ahead in terms of CMP, I aspire to take more leaps of faith in personal growth, share that growth with the program, and see my mentees achieve success with the help of the program. Professionally, I look forward to becoming a computer technician, helping people connect more with the digital world, and becoming more of a leader in the tech space.
