Deaf Studies Hosts Events for Prospective Students and Alumni

April 28, 2022

The Deaf Studies Advisement Office recently hosted an event to encourage our students to pursue graduate programs at CSUN. We also hosted an Alumni Panel where our alumni shared about their career journey after graduation and current careers/positions. Here in Deaf Studies we love to provide opportunities for our alumni to share their knowledge and experiences with the next generation of future graduates!

Deaf Studies Graduate Program Presentation Deaf Studies Alumni Panel

The Deaf Studies Advisement Office recently hosted an event to encourage our students to pursue graduate programs at CSUN. We were excited to be joined by the EPC Program, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education Specialist Credential Program, Master’s of Social Work (MSW) and the Speech Language and Pathology Program (SLP). Students were eager to learn about each program as they are some of the most popular graduate programs our students pursue.

Our Advisement Office was also excited to host an Alumni Panel where we were joined by Kyleigh Camp, Franca B Marquette, Cassidy Van Cleve, Margaret Bern and Vanessa Moran. Our alumni shared about their career journey after graduation and current careers/positions. We had a variety of careers represented on the panel as well as those who had pursued graduate school and out of state internships. They also shared advice on how to navigate the workforce, tips on applying for graduate school,  and their challenges and triumphs post graduation. Here in Deaf Studies we love to provide opportunities for our alumni to share their knowledge and experiences with the next generation of future graduates!
