WHY T- E in STEM NOW?

The classroom structures and teaching methods that engage students in engineering and computer science curricula are characterized by learner-centered climates in which students realize that they CAN be scientific and mathematical problem solvers, thinkers and communicators. And they learn they can do this in cooperation with diverse peers.

But this is not enough! They need to have adult as well as peer role models who believe they can be achievers; believe that they will be successful STEM learners; believe they can proceed to successful careers in STEM-- so necessary for the future of all nations. The best gift parents and teachers can give to students is the growth mindset that motivates them to work hard; to persevere to solve problems--even when they are very difficult--and to realize that as they do so, they become stronger, smarter, and more resilient.
