Help Make CSUN Shine Brighter

December 18, 2012

To the campus community:

The response to our first topic for the "Help Make CSUN Shine Brighter" campaign surpassed even our high expectations! Thank you to the CSUN community for your thoughtful input on improving pedestrian and vehicular traffic flow on and around campus.

We received roughly 200 responses, with suggestions covering safety, improving circulation on-campus and to/from campus, way finding, parking, biking and skateboarding. We have already started the process of disseminating your feedback to university administrators. Taken as a whole, your suggestions will help to inform decision making going forward. Individually, ideas will be considered with an eye to what we might implement quickly, what we might easily incorporate into planned projects, and what we might consider at a later date.

As to next steps, after the appropriate offices have had an opportunity to synthesize and review your many constructive suggestions, we anticipate providing a more complete overview and update. In the coming weeks, we will also roll out the next topic. Mr. Rick Evans, Executive Director of The University Corporation, and Dr. Barbara Gross, President's Chief of Staff, who I have designated to lead this effort on my behalf, will continue to keep the campus community informed about the initiative. In the meantime, feel free to visit the project website at

Thank you again for helping to make CSUN shine brighter!
