General Information
Office Hours - in the office - classroom - email - WebCT: Four possible means to contact me:
- E-mail/WebCT "office hours": M,W: 8-9 pm (or next morning early!). All accounting related questions should be posted to the webCT discussion page for your course. This is the best method for questions about the course material: (a) the odds are good that you are not the only person who has problems with the topic in question and (b) I will check the discussion page frequently.
- Questions of a personal nature should be e-mailed. I check my e-mail quite frequently, however, I guarantee that I will reply to e-mail according to the following schedule: E-mail received on Monday or Wednesday by 8 PM will be answered between 8 and 9 PM (or next morning). Warning: Make sure your email contains a clear "subject line" that lets me know that you are a legitimate student and not some porn peddler. I do not open/read e-mail from people I do not know or can relate to in some legitimate way!
- You can call me at 818-677-2440. However, keep in mind that usually I am only on campus on Tuesday and Thursday during the Fall Semester. Of course, you can leave a message either at that number or with the Department of Accounting at 818-677-2461.

Minimum Grade Point and Repeat Policy
Students must earn a grade of “C” or higher in each upper division business and accounting course in order to graduate with a BS in Accountancy. Students who earn less than a “C” will be permitted to repeat the course only once and only if/when a seat becomes available. There is no guarantee that a student will be able to repeat a class in the semester desired. State and local fire codes prevent classes from exceeding room capacity. Students must have an assigned seat with desk space (i.e., students will not be permitted to sit on the floor or in an empty chair in order to repeat a course.)
- How to work in groups. Working in groups is required in many courses. The information contained in this document explains the ground rules and it is mandatory that you read and follow to the extent applicable for your course.
- How to survive and prosper in College: My patented, guaranteed Student Success Guide will help you get organized and develop strategies and skills for maximizing your potential. Among other things it discusses how to design a course program that will let you graduate before you qualify for Social Security
LEXIS/NEXIS and other data bases
- Lexis-Nexis and other electronic data bases are available in the library. They can be accessed online from anywhere, as long as you are a CSUN student. To be able to access the restricted data bases you must have a valid student ID. If you have never checked anything out from the library, (or if it has been a long time) go there, check something out (you can return it right away. This 'activates' the bar code on the bakc of your student ID. Once you have done that, you can access the restricted data bases by entering your bar code number (Hint: store the number on your computer, then simply copy and paste it when you need to enter the number. Otherwise you heed to type a very long number again and again)
