History

Gluten-Free CSUN was founded in Fall 2011. The creation of the club was inspired by President Janelle Smith's desire to meet other gluten-free students and to improve support and awareness of the gluten-free diet. The club has held three official meetings and two off-campus social events in addition to tabling and publicizing on-campus. We look forward to widening our reach and accomplishing more for our local gluten-free community.

On November 17th, 2011 the club sponsored an informational lecture titled "Gluten-Free 101" given by club founder and dietetics student Janelle Smith. The lecture was open to all students and staff interested in learning more about the gluten-free diet, when it is necessary, and why it is important to increase awareness. The club will continue to host events such as these to support its mission.
