Mission Statement

The Center for Quality and Productivity Education promotes and enhances the professional growth and development of faculty, students and community members in the concepts, processes and tools required to manage quality and increase productivity. The Center, in cooperation with the American Society for Quality - San Fernando Valley (ASQ-SFV) and the Association for Operations Management , San Fernando Valley (APICS-SFV), provides internships in quality departments for undergraduate and graduate students and training to quality professionals seeking certification.

Purposes

  1. Promote development of quality and productivity education
  2. Provide space for a library of materials on quality and productivity supplied by and owned by the ASQ-SFV and APICS-SFV
  3. Promote the professional growth and development of faculty, students, and professionals in the fields of quality and productivity
  4. Increase communication among faculty, students, and professionals in the fields of quality and productivity

Function

The work of the Center will cover any area appropriate to the professional and academic interests related to the Center's purposes, including student scholarships and internships, faculty research and publications, and special courses, workshops, and seminars. Any non-credit courses, workshops, or seminars offered on a fee basis will be developed and administered in conjunction with the College of Extended Learning.
