Urban Studies & Planning
The mission of the Department of Urban Studies and Planning is to prepare students, at both the undergraduate and graduate level, for professional careers in urban studies and planning. In addition, the department seeks to provide a broad based educational experience, set in the context of the social sciences, which contributes to the development of informed and thoughtful individuals prepared to contribute to the society at large. Department faculty supports the mission through teaching, research and publication, community outreach and action, and university service.
The Master of Urban Planning provides a broad based education in urban planning, especially as it is practiced in the State of California, where a wide range of state laws and mandates have created a planning environment which is distinct from its practice in much of the rest of the United States. The Students Urban Research Forum!
The Department of Urban Studies and Planning presents: "The Students Urban Research Forum!" There will be a poster presentation at Sierra Hall Lobby in the East Wing and a Panel Presentation at the Ferman Presentation Room in the Oviatt Library. Event will take place on May 6, 2015.
