Biography

JD 2015 Harvard Law School.

Areas of Interest: Criminal Law, Policing, Criminal Justice and Sentencing.

Matt Barno received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2015, where he served in several organizations dedicated to indigent criminal defense. He is currently a doctoral student in the Criminology, Law & Society Department at the University of California, Irvine, where he studies criminal justice policy using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. His most recent project examined the impact of California’s Proposition 47 on drug crime policing throughout the state. He also currently serves as a research assistant for Dr. Simon Cole and the Center for Statistics and Applications in Forensic Evidence.
