February 5, Last day to Register Late, add classes using permission numbers, drop a class, or change basis of grading (end of Week 3).

Last day to qualify for a partial refund due to a drop in unit load below 6.1.

March 1, Deadline for Financial Aid application priority consideration.

March 5, Last day to confirm awarding of baccalaureate degree for students who completed graduation requirements for Fall 2009.

Deadline to apply for Spring 2010 or Summer 2010 graduation in order to participate in Commencement.

Deadline to apply for Fall 2010 undergraduate graduation

March 10, GradFest, Matador Bookstore. Graduates should attend in order to make all the necessary arrangements for Commencement.

April 2, Application filing period begins for Spring 2011 and Summer 2011 graduation for undergraduates

April 5-10, Spring Recess; no instruction

May 7, Last day of formal instruction, except for Saturday classes meeting once weekly.

May 10-15, Final Examinations. 0700 classes will have final exams on Saturday, May 15. Grades are posted online approximately one week after finals.

Religious Studies Department

Welcome!

The Department of Religious Studies is located on the campus of California State University, Northridge. The program is designed to provide a liberal arts background with an emphasis upon religious traditions and phenomena. The department is non-sectarian and aims to serve all students with or without religious affiliation. Students of all religions and ethnic backgrounds are welcome to enroll in individual Religious Studies courses or to complete the Religious Studies major or minor.

Our faculty approach the subject of Religious Studies across many contexts and disciplines including philosophy, history, sociology, psychology, anthropology, literary, and scientific. The program is cross-cultural and interdisciplinary and emphasizes the woven ties of religion to other areas of culture.
