(NORTHRIDGE,
Calif., April 11, 2007) – “Meet the Judges,” a public forum designed to
answer
questions about the operation of trial courts and the role of judges,
will be
sponsored by Cal State Northridge’s Political Science Department on
Thursday,
April 26, from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
The free event is open to
the public and will take place in
the Grand Salon of the University Student Union, located on the east
side of
the campus at
“This is a unique
opportunity for students and the community
to observe the legal environment and get some one-on-one mentoring with
Superior Court judges,” said Larry Becker, the CSUN political science
professor
in charge of the event. “Those attending
will gain a better understanding of how the law works and how judges do
their
jobs.”
