(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., May 2, 2007) — Fred Joyal, president and CEO of 1-800-DENTIST, will discuss "Marketing is the Heart of Business" on Wednesday, May 9, at Cal State Northridge.
The presentation, which is free and open to the public, is scheduled to take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Juniper Hall room 4117. The discussion is part of the College of Business and Economics’ Dean’s Speaker Series, which brings business and community leaders together to discuss issues within the business world.
Fred Joyal is a leading authority in broadcast, online, and specializes in marketing strategies for the dental market. Joyal co-founded 1-800-DENTIST in 1986 to provide screened patients to member dentists while encouraging millions to visit the dentist regularly. As the company spokesman, he has written and produced over 100 television and radio commercials which air more than 5,000 times a month on network television, making 1-800-DENTIST one of the top consumer brands in the nation.

Cal State Northridge’s College of Business and Economics is home to several nationally recognized programs where students gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside faculty members and business professionals in a variety of areas. Among its acclaimed programs is the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program in which CSUN students provide free tax preparation assistance to low income families and individuals. The college is also home to the San Fernando Valley Economic Research Center, where students work with faculty in collecting assembling, analyzing, and disseminating economic, social and demographic data pertaining to the Valley.
