(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., April 23, 2007) — The students of CHIME Charter Elementary School, which has extensive ties to Cal State Northridge, invite the community to join them in celebrating Cinco de Mayo with an old-fashioned, family fun-filled carnival on Saturday, May 5.
The "Fiesta" will feature midway games, mariachi music, a cake walk, an inflatable obstacle course, food, silent auction and performances by Jumbo Shrimp Circus and the school’s students. The carnival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the school, located at 19722 Collier St. in Woodland Hills.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to have fun together," said principal Julie Fabrocini. "It’s also a great opportunity for the community at large to learn more about CHIME."
Admission is $5 at the door. Activity and food tickets will be available for 50 cents each. Proceeds from the carnival will go to support the school’s library and art programs.
For more information about the carnival, call the school at (818) 346-5100.
