Sneak Preview of ‘Rashevski’s Tango’

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Sept. 6, 2007) — Rose Rashevski, main character of "Rashevski’s Tango," believed that the tango would make all troubles disappear. The film confronts matters of relationship, family, love and interfaith marriage, as three generations of Rose’s family grapple with the meaning of their Jewish faith.

This entertaining yet thought-provoking film will be given a free sneak preview on Monday, Sept. 10, in the Fallbrook Laemmle Theater located at 6731 Fallbrook Ave., West Hills, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The screening is part of a film series offered by Cal State Northridge’s Jewish Studies Program.

"Through these specially chosen films we show the benefits that arise from an exposure to Jewish films, so as to become informed and make thoughtful analysis of the issues and problems that they present," said Jody Myers, Jewish Studies coordinator.

Following the film, the CSUN Jewish Studies faculty will answer questions. Call to reserve a seat at (818) 677-4724 or e-mail jewish.studies@csun.edu.

The film is co-sponsored by Valley Beth Shalom, Adat Ari El, Temple Judea, Shomrei Torah Synagogue and Temple Aliyah.
