(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Sept. 27, 2007) — A sneak preview of "O Jerusalem," a film depicting two young friends—one Jewish, one Arab—on a journey from New York to Palestine, is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 14, in the Fallbrook Laemmle Theater located at 6731 Fallbrook Ave., West Hills, beginning at 10 a.m.
Jewish studies coordinator Jody Myers noted the film respects all ethnicities involved.
"I welcome the opportunity to see a film about the Israeli-Arab conflict that does not demonize the parties involved," Myers said.
The film is told from viewpoints of the Jews, Arabs and British. It is based on the novel "O Jerusalem," written by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre.
The preview is co-sponsored by Adat Ari El, Temple Aliyah, Temple Judea, Temple Kol Tikvah, Shomrei Torah Synagogue and Valley Beth Shalom.
Following the screening, the CSUN Jewish studies faculty will lead a question and answer discussion.
While the preview is free and open to the public, reservations are required due to limited seating. For reservations call (818) 677-4724 or e-mail jewish.studies@csun.edu.
