CSUN Holds Disaster Readiness Expo

(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Sept. 17, 2007) — CSUN’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is hosting a "Disaster Readiness Expo" Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Expo will be held in Cal State Northridge’s Department of Public Safety south parking lot, near the corner of Darby Avenue and Pacific Street in Northridge.

The show is designed to teach by examples of previous natural disasters. It will provide information for campus, home and community safety, as well as provide an opportunity to acquire safety supplies.

"If you’re ready for a disaster it will show," said Raymond Solis, active board member of CERT.

Exhibitors and vendors will include CSUN Department of Public Safety Mobile Command, Alamar Products, QuakeKare, Inc., Survivor Industries, SOS Survival Products, AAA, Earthquake Solutions, Emergen Store, Grainger, PETCO and Recreational Equipment, Inc.

The CSUN CERT council serves to administer, maintain and strengthen the CSUN CERT team and to promote individual and campus preparedness at California State University, Northridge.
