(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., Dec. 12, 2007) — An overwhelming demand for spots in Cal State Northridge’s freshman class next year has forced university officials to set a deadline of Friday, Dec. 21, as the last day first-time freshmen can submit applications to attend CSUN in fall 2008.
Applications from transfer and graduate students, including those interested in earning a teaching credential, will still be accepted until the university’s enrollment capacity is reached.
University officials said they have received nearly 23,000 applications so far from high school students who want to attend CSUN in fall 2008.
"The number of high school students interested in continuing their education at Cal State Northridge demonstrates our commitment to serving the needs of the region," said CSUN Provost Harry Hellenbrand, vice president of academic affairs. "But these numbers indicate that students who wish to take advantage of our excellent academic programs and beautiful campus should complete the application process as soon as possible."
High school students interested in attending Northridge as freshmen in fall 2008 have until the close of the business day of Friday, Dec. 21, to get their applications in. They can apply online at www.csumentor.edu.
