Services Offered

CARE provides services for the CSUN community and partners in the three broad and overlapping areas of assessment, research, and evaluation.

ASSESSMENT services are defined broadly to include everything from front-end scale creation and psychometric testing to survey data collection and analyses.

Assessment services available through CARE include:

  • Test/scale/survey creation
  • Survey implementation online and/or with traditional paper-and-pencil
  • Structured and semi-structured individual interviews and group interviews (e.g., focus groups)
  • Survey sampling, distribution and response collection

RESEARCH services assist investigators with hypothesis generation, research design and implementation.

Research services available through CARE include:

  • Converting program ideas into testable hypotheses
  • Experimental, quasi-experimental and qualitative research design and implementation

EVALUATION services include both quantitative and qualitative methods and assistance is available from the program planning stage (e.g., needs assessment, formative evaluation) through process and summative evaluations.

Evaluation services available through CARE include:

  • Internal and external evaluation

GENERAL Services

Additional services available through CARE:

  • Manuscript/methods writing assistance for grant proposals, summary reports and publications
  • Psychometric testing based on both classical and modern (e.g., item response theory [IRT]) test theories
  • Data management, cleaning and preparation
  • Statistical analyses, including advanced data analytic techniques (e.g., SEM, multilevel models and other multivariate designs)
  • Transcription
  • Coding qualitative data
  • Translation and back-translation
