Clara Ramirez, senior digital content producer for the Los Angeles stations Telemundo 52 and NBC4, wrote a story on CSUN Broadcast Journalism grad Lupita Baltazar, the first person in her family to graduate from college. Baltazar--who also minored in Spanish-Language Journalism, participated in the Telemundo Local Academy and served as president of the CSUN Latino Journalists--was an anchor this spring on the weekly Valley View News TV newscast.

“We are breaking generational curses, you know, we are doing it and just being able to set that example is already an achievement," she said.

(Note: Baltazar interned at Telemundo 52 in Summer ’22; Ramirez was Baltazar’s JOUR 374 SLJ professor in Fall ‘22.)
