'Cautiva' screening and panel discussion

The 2003 film “Cautiva” will be screened on Friday, March 21 at 5 p.m. in Manzanita Hall 130 in the University Student Union, followed by a panel discussion. The event, organized by the CSUN Latino Journalists Club, will feature a panel with Gastón Birabén, director of “Cautiva.” The panel will also feature Huffington Post Voices’ Gabriel Lerner, former political prisoner Nestor Fantini, and Program for Torture Victims co-founders Ana Deutsch and José Quiroga. The event is also sponsored by Proyecto Memoria.

“Cautiva,” Spanish for captive, focuses on the children of people killed in the 1970s military coup in Argentina. It was made with the support of Argentine National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts and won the Horizons Award at the 2003 San Sebastian Film Festival.
