Justina Avila is currently a second year student in CSUN’s Clinical Psychology Master’s program and a third year RIMI Scholar. Prior to receiving her BA in Psychology from CSUN, Justina was able to establish a strong foundation in research by working in multiple faculty research labs. As a graduate student, she has a much more narrow focus on neuropsychological research. Her current research interests involve examining the effects of acculturation, and other culturally-related variables, on neuropsychological test performance in ethnically diverse individuals. Justina’s career goal is to obtain a PhD in Clinical Psychology, enabling her to further explore similar culturally relevant issues that impact the utility of neuropsychological testing in both normal and clinical populations.
