Welcome to CSUN! You may have heard about the diversity of our student body, our dedication to equitable outcomes, our work on student success. You may want to learn more about what exactly this looks like, in terms of the DATA. If so, you’re in the right place! CSUN Counts houses a treasure trove of publicly available data in dashboards (as well as other dashboards available only to CSUN faculty and staff, see below).

To get you started, here are some dashboards that will help you to better understand who our students are and how we’re doing in terms of student success metrics such as retention and graduation rates. Please help us to curate this page by sending us your feedback on the usefulness of these dashboards and/or feedback on other dashboards that you find useful and why (email your feedback to ir@csun.edu)

Who Are Our Students?

Take a look at longitudinal trends in enrollment by various demographic groups, majors, or class level.

Look at breakdowns in student enrollment by various demographic groups (e.g., race, gender).

What does student success look like?

Learn more about the proportion of students who persist into their second year (filter to your college or department!).

Examine how persistence/retention rates vary by demographic groups.

There are many more dashboards! Start exploring at the CSUN Counts Homepage. All faculty, staff, and administrators also have access to dashboards via their CSUN credentials. You can access these by clicking on https://counts.csun.edu. Choose COUNTS after logging in, and take a look at some of these dashboards.

**TIP: if you find a dashboard that you use often, click on the star to favorite it and then you can go straight to Favorites (left menu) to find it the next time you log on!**

Learn how course grades are correlated with student retention and graduation.

Take a look at where Freshman students who start in your major end up later in their college careers.

Learn about credit momentum (enrolling in 15 or more units in the first semester) and how it impacts student success.

The CSU Chancellor’s Office also publishes dashboards that all CSU employees can view. You can access these dashboards by going to the CSU System Dashboards Landing Page and logging in with your CSUN credentials.
