Chuck
earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at San Francisco State
College and went on to his Ph.D.at Northwestern University. Prior to
joining our faculty in 1965 he taught at Northwestern University.
He
served as Associate Dean of our School for six years and was appointed
to the post of CSUN Dean of Graduate Studies and Research in 1977. He
held that post for a decade after which he returned to teaching. After
retiring in 1992 he taught a course in International Marketing at UCLA
While
on our active faculty, Chuck served as Student Marketing Association
advisor, Minority Business Faculty Mentor, and provided extensive
student counseling in administrative positions. Prior to entering the
Ph.D. program, Chuck was active in retailing and while on the faculty
here he provided marketing management consultation to retail and
manufacturing organizations and occasionally served as expert witness
in legal cases. He was President of the Valley International Trade
Association, 1987-1990 and is currently on four Boards of Directors, including the German-American Cultural Society, the Heidelberg Club International, the Valley International Trade Association, and the Northridge Porter Ranch Estates Architectural Committee.
He authored Retailing - A Professional Approach. Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Inc., 1975, Marketing Dictionary - English:German-German:English (published in Germany, 1976, now in its 3rd Edition, 1997), and The San Fernando Valley: Then and Now.
Windsor Publications, 1988. (The latter is a history of our very own
Valley). He wrote 260 columns in German-language marketing journals in Hamburg and Duesseldorf, Germany for over 19 years.
