Shirley Anderson

Shirley C. Anderson received a Ph.D. in Economics from UCLA in 1979. She taught Transportation & Logistics Management, International Marketing, MBA Marketing Concepts, MBA Marketing Seminar, Seminar in Pricing Strategy, Seminar in International Marketing and Marketing Management.

Before coming to CSUN in 1981, she was an urban transportation researcher at the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC., Irvine. Prior to that she taught Statistics, Micro- and Macroeconomics, and Natural Resource Economics at Occidental College and Cal State LA.

 

She was chair of the Marketing Department from 1989 to January 1995. She has been involved in professional associations and research in four areas: economics, international trade, logistics & transportation, and consumer behavior. Her husband Tom is an international economic geologist and a pilot and member of the Experimental Aviation Association. Son Chris is a surfer, geologist and geo-physicist working in Nevada and California. Dog Bear II is the wise and noble border collie and Brisa, the yellow lab mix, is the friendly savage who recognizes no borders.
