RTM 251 - News Flash - Bulletin

August 27,  2007

Welcome:  Here are the action items to do this week

1) Read course overview material from web page link in WebCT or this link (www.csun.edu/~vcrec004/ls251/ls251.htm).  Especially note the Summary of Assignments, FAQ, Guide to Success.

2) The Guide to Success requests you to do several email instructions including send a email to the professor confirming your class participation.

3) Buy the textbook.

4) Get started with Lecture I, it is up and ready for you.  The PreTest is also available and should be completed within the first 2 weeks of the semester (September 6, 2007) .

5) Remember to plan early for ideas about the 'outdoor experience' - if signing up for one our other department classes that goes outdoors is an interesting option for you then enroll ASAP - many are already full but some may have space available.  Course numbers include:  RTM 150, 151A, 151B, 151D, 151G, 151H, 353.  Remember - these courses are just one way to fulfill that assignment.

Fun Life Quotes:

When all the dangerous cliffs are fenced off, all the trees that might fall on people are cut down, all of the insects that bite are poisoned... and all of the grizzlies are dead because they are occasionally dangerous, the wilderness will not be made safe. Rather, the safety will have destroyed the wilderness."

--R. Yorke Edwards (Canadian environmentalist)

Welcome back to CSUN for Fall Semester 2007.  I am still updated this on-line course so details of due dates etc are best read later in the  week.  But general information on the course can be scanned - especially the links called - Guide to Success,  FAQ, Syllabus, and Learning Outcomes.  The Summary of Assignments can be explored but that section will see the most change.  Glad you're in the class.
