DESCRIPTION OF SOFTWARE
INTRODUCTION
THE MATH TUTOR IS DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS, THE MATH TUTOR AND THE GAMES. WHEN A STUDENT EARNS A SCORE OF 70 OR ABOVE ON AN ASSIGNMENT HE OR SHE IS PRSENTED WITH A GAMES MENU AND MAY SELECT A GAME AS A REWARD.
The MATH TEACHING ASSISTANT provides an opportunity to assist the teacher in teaching various levels of math. The following areas of math are available to provide the student with independent achievement opportunity:
Each of these topics are presented at several levels of difficulty to satisfy the needs of individual students. Each game is in color and has sound effects.
The system employes a random generator to provide a new set of problems each time the program is run. The system stores information in regard to each error and presents the teacher, and student, with detailed reports when requested.
Students earn points for each correct answer, which continue to accummulate as the student advances to a new subject. The reports present the total possible points and the score (points) earned by each student. The report also provides the accumulative percentage realized by each student.
The system provides games, assignments, progress tests, and challenge problems. THE SYSTEM ALSO PROVIDES A MATH SKILLS EVALUATION WHICH WILL EVALUATE THE NEEDS OF EACH STUDENT AND IDENTIFY THE ASSIGNMENTS THAT EACH STUDENT SHOULD DO.
THERE ARE SEVERAL HUNDRED ASSIGNMENTS AND TESTS.
New assignments are being added each month.

The Math Tutor automatically grades all assignments, tests and
math games. The grades for all assignments are presented in a
Grade Book for each student.
When the student selects the MATH SKILLS EVALUATION OPTION,
the system will determine which assignments are recommended for the
individual student and indicate by marking a 1 in the assignment slot
in the grade book. The system will also indicate on line 608 and 624
which of the SKILL EVALUATIONS were completed by the student, and the
results.
When the student completes the assignment, the 1 will be
replaced by the student's assignment grade.
The bottom of the Grade Sheet shows the total points and the
average grade score.
There is also a individual report showing each problem missed,
the correct answer and the error made by the student.
THE MATH TUTOR WILL SAVE A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE
TEACHER OR PARENT.

RUNNING THE PROGRAM
One of the advantages of this system is that it is MENU driven and very easy to use. A five year old can use the counting game, yet a seventh, eighth, or nineth grader will be challenged by the higher level fractions, percentages, geometry, algebra and word problems.
THE SYSTEM MAY BE RUN IN DOS, WINDOWS 3.1, 95, 98 or 2000.

This software will take 10 MB of storage on your hard disk.
