Introduction to the Assignments

As part of this course, you are required to do a number of assignments.

Assignment 0. I’ve registered at cobaeonline.com and written down my password

The assignments are handled through the website cobaeonline.com. Your first assignment is to is register there (if you haven’t registered before). Once you are registered, sign up for my course. This has nothing to do with registration at CSUN, it just lets the website know that you are taking my course. Also, write down your password and store it someplace safe so you won’t forget it. 

How to do assignments

Each assignment will ask you to find some information or do some calculation and report the results. When you click on an assignment at cobaeonline, it will bring up a page where you can enter the information. Most of the time, it’s better to write your report in a word processor first and then cut and paste.

Assignments are graded pass/fail. You will recieve an email notification if you pass or fail. If you fail, you may repeat the assignment but will need to submit it by the revision deadline.

For some assignments, each student in the class will be using different information. At the start of the course, you will get a sheet with your personalized information and your ID number. Please include the ID number in all of your reports.

Assingments are generally due a week after we cover the material for that topic.

If you pass all but one of the assignments, you get an "A" for that part of the course. If you pass all but two assignments, you get a "B". If you pass all but three, you get a "C". Otherwise, you get an "F".
