A Human Conversation
This is a 2006 performance with the Palindrome Intermedia Performance Group in Edinburgh, Scotland, for the Narrative and Interactive Learning Environments conference. Robert Wechsler and Mimi Jeong, dancers/choregraphers, Dan Hosken, sound/music and interactive sound programming. The work explores various modes of conversation including moving, touching, signing, and speech. Video from a camera trained on the dancers is analyzed in realtime by the program EyeCon and the motion data is used to control the sound output using Max/MSP.
