CSUN Commencement 2017, Celebrating Matador Success

Leah Katz-Hernandez, a volunteer for the Obama-Biden 2008 and 2012 campaigns who rose to become the receptionist for the White House, delivered a presentation about being female, multi-racial and deaf.

This 2016 documentary gives a unique perspective on the Palestinians of Gaza and the Israelis who help them. Following the screening, which will be held at the Laemmle Town Center 5 in Encino, CSUN Jewish Studies faculty will hold a Q&A session.

Summer Movie Fest: The LEGO Batman Movie

Thur, June 15, 5:30 p.m.
The fun doesn’t stop at CSUN once school ends. The weekly movie fest will kick off on June 15 with The LEGO Batman Movie and will go through Aug. 31. This free event, which will take place each week on the Oviatt Lawn, is open to the public and will feature a variety of food trucks.

Are you a recent graduate? Treat yourselves this summer and watch the Moody Blues perform live at the Hollywood Bowl, which will conclude with fireworks at the end. Join CSUN alumni for a pre-concert picnic before the fun starts.

CSUN Softball Receives Major Big West Honors

Senior Taylor Glover, who led the conference with a .412 batting average, 106 total bases and 73 hits, was named the Big West Conference Player of the Year. Fellow senior Katie Hooper earned Big West Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors, junior Savannah Horvath earned first-team honors, Daphne Pofek made the second team and Jessica Alexander received honorable mention and a spot on the Big West All-Freshman team.
