VARJAM Kickoff Showcases Students’ Virtual Talents

NIH Awards CSUN $1.46M to Support Cancer Research

The National Institutes of Health has awarded CSUN biology professor Jonathan Kelber and his team of graduate and undergraduate students $1.46 million over the next four years to support their ongoing research studies of the cancer “support wall” gene called PEAK1.

The Big West Conference Tournament begins March 8 for the CSUN women's and men's basketball teams.

Men’s and Women’s Basketball: Big West Conference Tournament at the Honda Center

March 8-11
Thanks to winning nine of the final 11 regular-season games, the third-seeded Women’s team will have a first-round bye in the tournament and will play the lowest remaining seed on March 8 at 6 p.m. The sixth-seeded Men’s team will face Cal State Fullerton on March 9 at 2:30 p.m.

Campus Climate Student Survey on Sexual Assault/Sexual Misconduct Prevention

The U.S. Department of Education requires that a campuswide student survey on Sexual Assault/Sexual Misconduct Prevention be conducted on every campus nationwide that receives federal funds. The survey was distributed to CSUN students three weeks ago. Although participation is anonymous and voluntary, your participation is invaluable. If you have taken the survey, we appreciate your involvement and thank you. However, if you have not participated in the survey and are committed to improving this campus, please refer to your CSUN email of Feb. 13 and again on Feb. 24, from President Harrison, for the link to the survey.

2017 Honors Convocation Nominations

CSUN will recognize outstanding graduates by inviting them to participate in Honors Convocation on May 13 at 6 p.m. To be eligible, graduates must be the recipient of a department, college or university award or scholarship that recognizes demonstrated excellence of an artistic, creative or athletic nature, or the display of unusual leadership ability or community service. Nominees must also possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better on all coursework through Fall 2016. Nominations are being accepted through April 7.

Spring Internship and Career Expo, March 15

The Career Center is excited to launch our newly rebranded 2017 Spring Internship & Career Expo on March 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the USU, Northridge Center and Grand Salon. This is our largest job fair of the year, with more than 100 employers offering full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities to CSUN students and alumni.

Thesis/Dissertation/Project Planning Form Due

March 10 is the last day for graduate students to file their thesis/dissertation/graduate project planning form online through the Electronic Thesis and Dissertation System (ETD) for the spring 2017 semester.

Outstanding Graduating Senior Award Applications

Each year four graduating seniors are presented with the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in recognition of academic excellence, contributions to campus and community, and exceptional achievements or personal life circumstances that have been overcome. Eligible students must complete the application form, including a statement of qualifications, and submit two letters of recommendation from faculty, staff or administrators. At least one of the recommendations must be from a member of the CSUN faculty. Deadline for applications is April 3. For questions, please call (818) 677-2391.
