Gradfest Brings Students Closer to the Finish Line

A sea of eager students flooded the Matador Bookstore on March 16-17 for CSUN’s Gradfest. The annual pre-commencement event serves as the expo where students purchase graduation paraphernalia and other materials, such as diploma frames, class rings and photos.

Anita Sarkeesian ’07 (Communication Studies) spoke about portrayals of women in film, television, video games and other popular culture. Sarkeesian is internationally known for her media criticism and her Web-series Feminism Frequency.

CSUN Celebrates Solar Observatory’s New Home on Campus

CSUN celebrated the opening and dedication of its solar observatory in a ceremony March 15 on campus. More than 100 CSUN leaders, students, faculty members, philanthropists and members of the community gathered to herald the move of the San Fernando Observatory to its new home at CSUN.

CSUN Chicana/o Studies professor Rodolfo “Rudy” Acuña received the prestigious award on March 14 from Diverse Issues in Higher Education magazine.

Outstanding Graduating Senior Scholarship Applications Available

Each year four graduating seniors are presented with the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in recognition of academic excellence, contributions to campus and community, and exceptional achievements or personal life circumstances that have been overcome. Deadline to apply is April 4.

Set a Registration Appointment for Summer Classes this Week

From Tuesday-Monday, March 22-28, 2016, eligible new and continuing CSUN students may set their own enrollment appointment on a first-to-arrive basis to later enroll in summer classes. Registration-by-Appointment is March 29-April 5, 2016.
