Award-winning journalist and TV news anchor Soledad O’Brien’s presented a compelling talk on “Race and Opportunity in America,” at CSUN’s Valley Performing Arts Center. O’Brien is one of today’s most renowned and respected broadcast journalists. During her career with CNN, NBC News and HBO, she has reported breaking news from around the globe and produced award-winning documentaries.

VPAC welcomes Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Stewart Copeland from The Police. His current muse, the 1925 silent film Ben Hur: A Tale of The Christ, remains a classic in the silent film genre, and he’s joined by the Pacific Symphony Orchestra to perform the score that Copeland wrote for the film. Student discounted tickets start as low as $12.

Can’t make it to all the games? The CSUN Sports Network will stream nine live baseball and softball games for free on GoMatadors.com.

Apply for Tanni Block Memorial LGBTQ Scholarship

This $1,250 scholarship serves to honor the memory of alumna Tanni Block by recognizing on-campus leadership, involvement and advocacy efforts that support inclusivity on campus, particularly with and for the LGBTQ community. Deadline to apply is April 1 (make sure to scroll to the second page of the Scholarships tab for online application).

Eva Brettler: Holocaust Survivor to Speak at CSUN

Eva Brettler, a survivor of the Ravensbruck concentration camp, will be speaking about her experiences before, during and after the Holocaust in Sierra Hall 451 (Whitsett Room) on March 16 at at 12:30 p.m.

2016 Outstanding Senior Award

The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs is accepting nominations for the Outstanding Senior Award. Four students will receive an award of $1,000 each in recognition for academic excellence, service to community and campus, and exceptional achievement or personal life circumstances that have been overcome. The deadline for nominations is April 4, and winners will be presented at the Honors Convocation on Friday, May 20.

CSUN Hockey Club Caps Season With Championship Win at Staples Center

After defeating Loyola Marymount 5-3 at Staples Center, the club has seen a huge surge of recognition from the CSUN community.
