Filmmaker Robert Townsend Encourages CSUN Students to Follow Their Dreams

Actor and comedian Robert Townsend visited CSUN for a screening of his satirical film, Hollywood Shuffle. Townsend, who is also an acclaimed director and producer, received an honorary doctorate in fine arts from CSUN in May 2015. His talk was part of CSUN’s Black History Month activities.

CSUN Physical Therapy Students Make a Difference With Help from Dodgers and Campanella Foundation

The CSUN Physical Therapy department celebrated its partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation and the Roy and Roxie Campanella Foundation, honoring 15 students who have earned scholarships. Helping these CSUN students is a way of giving back for the Campanella Foundation, as physical therapists played such a major part in the life of the late Hall of Famer after he was injured in a tragic car accident in 1958.

Apply for Financial Aid by March 2

March 2 is the priority deadline for current and prospective CSUN students to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form (FAFSA) or California Dream Act application to be considered for financial aid for fall 2016. If you would like help with filling out the application, CSUN’s Financial Aid Office will conduct a series of workshops for students. The FAFSA application is free and can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Students who qualify for an AB540 nonresident tuition exemption can file the California Dream Act application online at www.caldreamact.org.

Now Accepting Applications for CSUN Alumni Association Scholarships

Alumni Association scholarships are made possible through the generosity of alumni who believe in investing in the future of students. Fourteen scholarships will be awarded for this next academic year in the amount of $2,000 each! The deadline to apply is May 3, 2016.

National College Health Assessment Through March 6

We want to learn about your health. In your email you will receive a National College Health Assessment survey designed to learn about CSUN students’ health in order to provide better health and wellness services. Students who respond to the survey will be entered into a drawing to win up to $100 in Matador Bookstore Gift Cards.

Apply to Become an NSO Leader

Become a New Student Orientation (NSO) leader and help integrate new students into the academic, cultural and social context of CSUN. The deadline to apply is March 4.
