Hollywood Foreign Press Association Gives CSUN’s Curb College CTVA Department $2 Million

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will grant $2 million to the Department of Cinema and Television Arts in CSUN’s Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication. Funded in conjunction with Dick Clark Productions, this grant will go toward scholarships for CSUN CTVA students and investing in the latest technology. Chicana/o Studies alumna Eva Longoria is back on prime time in the new NBC sitcom Telenovela, which is a behind-the-scenes look at a fictional Spanish-language soap opera, with Longoria in the middle of all the action.

CSUN Professor Honored by Foreign Policy Magazine as Leading Global Thinker

Foreign Policy Magazine has recognized CSUN photography professor Levon Parian as one of its 100 leading global thinkers for 2015. Parian teamed with two colleagues on an artistic, architectural collaboration called “iwitness,” which was a collection of portraits featuring survivors of the Armenian genocide.

Their tandem may have finished second during several legs of the Amazing Race, but alumnus Joey Buttitta and his fiancee Kelsey Gerckens came out on top when it mattered the most, winning the final frenetic leg of the reality TV race to be crowned champions and take home a truly amazing prize.
