CSUN to Hold Giant Used Book Sale
(NORTHRIDGE, Calif., April 8, 2005) -- The Friends of Cal State Northridge's Oviatt Library are sponsoring a "mega" used book sale at the university on Saturday, April 16.
The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the northwest corner of the campus in the parking lot at Lassen Street and Zelzah Avenue. The public is welcome.
All hardback books will be priced at $1 each, softback books at 50 cents each, and small softback books will be 25 cents each or six for $1. All proceeds from the sale will go toward purchasing new materials for the library's collection.

The Oviatt Library is home to more than 1.25 million volumes, 3 million microfilms, 125,000 government publications, and subscribes to more than 2,400 periodicals and more than 20,000 electronic databases, journals and books. It also has an extensive historical collection of mixed media, rare books and archives. It serves as the main research facility in the San Fernando Valley.
California State University, Northridge has 31,000 full- and part-time students and offers 61 bachelor's and 42 master's degrees as well as 28 education credential programs. Founded in 1958, it is among the largest single-campus universities in the nation and the only four-year public university in the San Fernando Valley.
